WTOP Radio reported yesterday that "Prince William County has widened part of the roadway [Route 15], but the
Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance worries that a 9-mile, two-lane stretch of the road north of Leesburg to the Maryland border could get too congested. The alliance says the Loudoun County portion of the road could carry 40,000 vehicles a day by 2030 -- more vehicles than currently use Interstate 81."
The WTOP report added that the "
Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance is criticizing Loudoun County for ignoring its own traffic plan and faults state planners for not stepping in."
