Single Vehicle Crash on Route 15 Takes Life of Leesburg Man

A Leesburg man lost his life yesterday, Friday, December 16, in a single vehicle crash on Route 15 south of Leesburg.  

Chauncey Smith, Jr., 57, was traveling south on Route 15 in a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette when around 1 p.m. the vehicle left the roadway near Oatlands Road. The vehicle then crossed back across the roadway and struck a tree.   

Smith lost his life at the scene.   

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
