Sheriff's Office Supports Annual COPS and Kids Program

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will participate in the Loudoun-Dulles Fraternal Order of Police (F.O.P.) Lodge #69 14th Annual COPS and Kids Program tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 1.

This year's Cops and Kids Program will help bring the holidays to over 100 children and their families in our community. These children, who otherwise would not be able to enjoy all the holiday season has to offer, are selected by the Loudoun County School system based on their needs.

"We are pleased to support and participate in the F.O.P.'s annual cops and kids program," said Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman.

The children and their families will be treated to a complete holiday breakfast at Wegman's, then they will join in the holiday parade and head over to Target where they will receive much needed funds to go shopping with volunteer law enforcement officers from the FOP.

The event will be held from 8-11:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Dulles 28 Center located at 22000 Dulles Retail Plaza, Sterling.

For more information about the Cops and Kids Program or to make a donation, visit www.vafop.org or call 703-444-0238.

* Editors Note: We realize this isn't very related to traffic and transportation in Loudoun County, but it does involve our Sheriff's Office, so we decided to publicize this effort. Having said that, however, if you are in the area of the Wegman's and Target tomorrow morning, you may notice an increase in vehicular activity in this already heavily traveled area. We encourage you to keep your eyes open, and drive slowly and with caution.
