James L. Jack, 50, of no fixed address, was located today after citizens reported seeing the stolen truck in the area of Briarcroft Plaza in Sterling. On Wednesday, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert seeking information about the stolen vehicle and the suspect after he was involved in a hit and run in the area of Fort Evans Road and the Route 7/Route 15 Bypass.
The vehicle, a 2005 Freightliner, was reported stolen on May 7th from the area of Route 50 near Fleetwood Road. The vehicle was recovered and has since been returned.
Jack was charged by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office with auto theft and driving while a habitual offender. Jack is also facing additional charges from the Town of Leesburg in connection with the hit and run. He remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
