Loudoun County Transit will offer a special bus service for Loudoun County residents to attend the grand opening of the new Metro Rail Silver Line rail service this Saturday, July 26. The first Silver Line train will depart from the new Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail station at noon on Saturday.
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Loudoun County will run a special bus service to give customers a sneak peak of the new Wiehle Reston-East station and give an opportunity to ride the new Metro Silver Line train:
When weekday Silver Line service begins on Monday, July 28, Loudoun County Transit buses will depart from park-and-ride locations in Loudoun and transport passengers to the Wiehle-Reston East or Spring Hill Metro stations in the morning. Buses will return from these stations to Loudoun County in the afternoon and early evening.
The new bus schedules include changes to the bus service departing from the Potomac Falls area to Metrorail stations and service from Metrorail to selected Loudoun employment centers. The schedules also address new bus service which will replace current Tysons Express schedules.
The Silver Line schedules do not impact the existing commuter bus routes serving Rosslyn, the Pentagon, Crystal City and Washington, D.C.

- Service will start at 11 a.m., departing from the Leesburg Park and Ride, 19730 Sycolin Road; stopping at the Dulles North Transit Center, Route 606 and Moran Road; then on to the new Wiehle Reston-East Rail station. |
- The bus service will run approximately every 30 minutes, departing on the hour and half-hour from Leesburg and Wiehle Reston-East.
